Spotlight: Helene Dukas


Helene Dukas
"Finally, my father had an idea.  He knew a lady who then lived in Palestine (now Israel) who knew Albert Einstein’s secretary, Helene Dukas.  At that time, Professor Einstein was at Princeton University; he had a reputation for helping German refugees.  We wrote to her, and included my high school transcript."

The above paragraph is from Opa's memoirs. It was his brief recollection of their decision to contact Helene Dukas. Most of what is known about Miss Dukas is in reference to Einstein.
